The most flexible cancellation rules on the market? Yes, we believe so. We use a flexible cancellation model, where you can make your own choice.
Cancellation rules in a rental situation are about being able to meet in the middle and find a compromise that feels reasonable and fair to both parties. All individuals think differently, so we think it is important that you have the freedom to choose.
Both the owner and the renter can cancel a booking themselves free of charge before it is paid for via 'My profile -> Bookings'.
To cancel a paid booking, Out2Camp Support must always be contacted.
The amount you as a renter pay consists of a rental price (specified by the owner) and a booking fee (insurance) added by the system.
Should the owner be forced to cancel a paid booking, the full amount will be refunded to the renter.
If the renter wishes to cancel a paid booking, it is the time of the cancellation and the owners's chosen cancellation rule that regulates how much of the rental price is refunded.
Regardless of the selected cancellation rule, the following applies:
To make it simple but still flexible, we have developed a number of predefined cancellation rules.
As an owner, you choose the rule you want to use when you rent out. As a renter, you can see the rule that applies to a particular vehicle on the vehicle's advertising page under the heading 'Rental conditions', before you book.
The current cancellation rule is always stated in the rental contract that is created as soon as a booking request has been submitted. A change in the selected cancellation rule does not affect existing bookings.
In the event of a cancellation, we take as our starting point the cancellation rule in the rental contract. Should there be special circumstances that cause the renter and the owner to agree to deviate from the cancellation rule in the rental contract, we will comply with it.
The following cancellation rules are available to choose from:
Out2Camp does not offer any cancellation protection or the opportunity to buy a cancellation insurance. However, many private insurance companies do this, so consult with your own insurance company.
Some card issuers (Visa, Mastercard) also offer cancellation protection if payment is made with their card. A tip is to contact your bank to find out more.
